How it all began

Our story started back in April of 2016. It feels like ages ago now, but we both met in the queue at an audition for the London Gay Men's Chorus. We struck up a conversation and then spent the whole night chatting away. Towards the end of the audition (spoiler alert, Marcus got in, Ryan didn't...awks) we both went our separate ways. Despite getting on famously, neither of us plucked up the courage to swap numbers and take things further but thankfully... fate had other plans....

The very next night, on two very separate nights out, our paths crossed once again at G-A-Y Late (RIP) in Soho and it's fair to say we've been pretty inseparable ever since.

About Us

Marcus works in telly at the BBC, while Ryan spends his days working in branding. When we’re not juggling work, we love to travel—regular trips to Cyprus, Italy, the U.S., Lisbon, Istanbul, and more have definitely added some stamps to our passports.

We live together in our renovated flat in gorgeous Crouch End in North London with our wee cat, Maggie. North London has been our home for most of our relationship, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

As much as we love a holiday, we’re also huge fans of nights out with our family and close friends, dinners, drinks, and going to gigs. We’ve had our fair share of concert highlights: from Beyoncé and Lady Gaga at Tottenham Stadium to Spice Girls at Wembley and Kylie Minogue and Celine Dion in Hyde Park. Let’s just say, if it involves live music, drinks and a good time, we’re there.

The Proposal

Which leads us on quite nicely to our proposal. We've been attending the Mighty Hoopla festival for years now and it's always been a special place for us. Back in June 2022, we made our way there to watch the Sugababes headline. A real highlight for us. Halfway through "Caught in a moment" Marcus took his moment and got down on one knee and asked Ryan to marry him, and of course, Ryan said "Yes!" and the rest as they say is history.

The Big Day

So now we find ourselves onto the main event! After 9 years together, we've finally gotten round to making this thing official. We’re getting married on the 5th of July 2025 at Hackney Town Hall, surrounded by our favorite people (yes, that means you!). We can’t wait to celebrate this special day with all our friends and family by our sides. It’s going to be a day filled with love, laughter, and maybe a little bit of dancing. Get your dancing shoes ready! 🪩🕺
